shouldbereading.wordpress.com asks three questions every week for WWW Wednesdays. Check out the blog for MizB’s responses. I think it’s a good, quick way to keep readers updated on what’s going on in my reading world. Here are my answers:
What are you currently reading? I’m on page 70 of 348 of Love in the Time of Cholera by Garbriel Garcia Marquez. Summer reads #1 is on the go and I am so happy about it because it is a lovely book. Really enjoying it so far…I mean, you don’t get much better than Garcia Marquez.
What did you recently finish? I’ve put The Power of Now on hold for now. With all the Armchair BEA writing/reading, exams around the corner and the mountain of marking I keep putting off, it’s been a while since I have finished a book.
What do you think you’ll read next?I hope to continue with Wide Sargasso Sea by Jean Rhys. I’ve also come across come terrific ideas for summer reading on other blogs, more contemporary, fun titles…maybe I’ll pick up one of those.
Wanna play along? Send me your answers to these questions or answer them at shouldbereading.wordpress.com
What’s Love in the Time of Cholera like? Always meant to read that

Have to admit it was a slow start – but Garcia Marquez’s direct writing style…his ability to spin a tale with outrageous hyperbole as if it were fact keeps you intrigued, because you know the magic will happen soon. Then the protagonists enter the story and it is simply beautiful writing. It is a love story that touches your inner romantic and takes you to the most wonderful places where only love can go. And, I’m only 80 pages in! Thanks for reading.

Marquez is one of my favorite authors, though I have not read Love in the Time of Cholera. And Jean Rhys is a good choice. I have not read Wide Sargasso Sea, but I did just watch the recent Jane Eyre movie and it made me think of Rhys. New follower!

Thank you! Will check out your answers too. Garcia Marquez is such an incredible writer. He’s a true Colombian treasure – someone we Colombians are very proud of. I am a big fan of Jane Eyre and have always been told that Wide Sargasso Sea is a great book – I’m really looking forward to reading it.
